A lot of properties have more potential than people realize. Slopes, overgrown edges, and uneven ground along the tree line can eat up a big chunk of your yard - space that could actually be usable lawn. That's exactly the situation we're working through here for a client we've known for years.
The scope of this one involves light excavation to cut back and level out a section of the property that was previously wasted space. We brought in the skid steer to move material, grade things out, and get the ground prepped for what comes next. The dump truck is on site too, hauling off the excess soil and debris as we work through each section.
This kind of work is more than just moving dirt. You have to think about drainage, how the new grade ties into the existing lawn, and making sure you're not creating new problems while solving old ones. Getting the grade right from the start is what separates a clean finished lawn from one that holds water or erodes after the first heavy rain.
The client is getting a noticeably larger, flatter lawn out of this - ground that was previously rough and unusable is now graded out and ready to seed. It's one of those improvements that sounds simple but makes a real difference in how a property feels and functions day to day.
We do this kind of work regularly for both new and returning clients. Whether it's reclaiming a sloped edge, clearing and grading a section of the yard, or prepping ground for new lawn, light excavation is one of the more practical investments a homeowner can make in their property.
