If your front yard holds water after every rain, the problem usually isn't the rain - it's the grade. When the ground isn't sloped the right way, water has nowhere to go. It just sits there, soaking in, softening the soil, and slowly making a mess of your lawn.

That's exactly the kind of situation we were dealing with here. The grade was off, water was pooling where it shouldn't, and the yard needed to be properly regraded from the ground up. This is light excavation work at its most practical - strip things back, move the soil where it needs to go, and reshape the ground so water flows away from the yard instead of settling into it.

Getting the grade right matters more than most people realize. A properly sloped yard protects your lawn's root system, keeps standing water from becoming a long-term headache, and sets the whole area up to actually grow healthy grass. It's not glamorous work mid-job, but the difference it makes once everything is seeded and established is significant.

We had the equipment on site to handle the excavation efficiently and haul off what needed to go. The goal is always a clean, consistent slope - nothing dramatic, just enough pitch to let water do what it's supposed to do and move on. Done right, you shouldn't have to think about it again.
